We were lucky enough to have completed the Winter Kelsuu expedition in Kyrgyzstan with WBB before the world was ravaged by the coronavirus. The Lockdowns, work restrictions, and travel bans were taking their own toll with all expeditions thrown out of the window for the year. A year had just gone by without any travels. Passing through a dark tunnel, suddenly saw a ray of light when Nidhi called in one evening to tell me about an expedition in Northern Kashmir called “Across Shamshabari”. Having accumulated winter gear for my Iceland and Siberia expeditions, it’s become a compulsion now to go on one winter expedition every year. While in pursuit of a winter expedition, received an email from Nidhi, Founder of Wander Beyond Boundaries (WBB) regarding the Kel-Suu winter expedition in Kyrgyzstan. Even before completely reading the brochure, I had already decided to be on this winter expedition. The next task was to find a competent partner.
